Fees & Payments Policy

Sellers may be charged for using some of fans.lu’s services. This Fees & Payments Policy explains your fees, bills, and taxes and how to pay them.

This policy is a part of our Terms of Use. By opening an fans.lu shop, you’re agreeing to this policy and our Terms of Use.

1. Types of Fees

Sellers may be required to pay the following types of fees:

Transaction Fees

When you make a sale of a handmade item through fans.lu, you will be charged a transaction fee of 3.5% of the price you display for each listing. The transaction fee will not apply to the shipping cost, sales tax, unless you have included those charges in your listing price. See the Taxes section below for more information about whether or not you are required to include applicable taxes in your listing prices. Transaction fees will appear on your fans.lu bill.

Bonus Item Fees

All bonus items manufactured, picked packed and shipped by fans.lu have a flat rate fee and revenue share structure. List sales prices by item are decided by fans.lu and are the same for everyone.

Payment Processing Fees

Online Sales. Eligible fans.lu Shops may use fans.lu Payments to accept certain payments through fans.lu. fans.lu charges a payment processing fee for processing each transaction through fans.lu Payments. See the fans.lu Payments Policy. This fee is assessed on the total amount of the sale, including tax and shipping. Unlike other fees, the payment processing fee is deducted from the transaction amount as the funds become available for deposit. Payment processing fees will be reflected in your payment account, rather than on your fans.lu bill.

2. Fee Avoidance

Any action by a seller to avoid paying a fee is considered fee avoidance and is strictly prohibited by fans.lu. This includes, for example, encouraging buyers to purchase an item in your fans.lu through another venue. The price stated in each listing description must be an accurate representation of the sale. Sellers may not charge excessive shipping fees. Sellers may not alter the item's price after a sale for the purpose of avoiding fans.lu transaction fees, misrepresent the item’s location, or use another user's account without permission.

3. fans.lu Payments

fans.lu Payments enables sellers to accept various forms of payment in their local currencies while using fans.lu’s services. Sellers registered for fans.lu Payments can accept payment by credit card, debit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Android Pay. Only fans.lu Payments users in the US can sell handmade goods on fans.lu. Non-USA based sellers can sell bonus items from their digital images that are manufactured, picked packed and shipped by fans.lu.

4. Taxes

You are responsible for collecting and paying any taxes associated with using and making sales through fans.lu’s services.

If you sell physical goods on fans.lu and reside in the USA, you have the option of either including applicable taxes in your listing prices, or excluding applicable taxes from your listing prices and then calculate the tax owed on each sale on your own.

fans.lu will issue 1099-K forms to sellers in the United States to comply with IRS requirements.

Please remember that fans.lu's fees do not include any withholding taxes that might apply in your home country. You are required to pay fans.lu the full amount of our fees and may not deduct any applicable withholding taxes from that amount. Please also note that some countries require fans.lu to charge VAT on certain of the fees that you may be charged in accordance with this policy, and that the fees listed in this policy do not include that VAT.
